Carbon Neutral Tourism Destinations

In 2014, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism Marketing (MERCOTUR) joined the Green Initiative transferring more than 15 years of expertise in different areas of tourism destination development, with a track record of clients that includes organizations such as SENAC-Brasil, SNV (Dutch cooperation), International Labor Organization, UNESCO, the Hospitality Institute and tourist destinations such as Machupicchu (Peru), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Inhambane (Mozambique).

AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Institutional Development:

We train and advise public and private agents to start collaborative processes that promote green investments for tourism destination’s sustainable development.

Planning and Marketing of Tourist Destinations:

We carry out economic and market studies to promote tourism destinations’ strategic positioning and develop sustainable climate neutral tourism products and services.

Employability:

We carry out diagnoses that allow identifying employment and business opportunities for young people and women under a value chain approach and based on the demand for tourist services in the destination.

Capacity building:

We have methodologies that allow high-impact training aimed at young people, women, and vulnerable populations in the tourism sector under a competency development approach.
