Between 2015 and 2016, the Green Initiative contributed to the calculation and compensation of the regional BioComercio Andino project’s carbon footprint, an initiative designed to promote the conservation of biodiversity through the principles promoted by the United Nations for fair, inclusive trade and sustainable.

This experience enabled the emissions of the knowledge products produced to be accounted for and offset. In this way, the initiative funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and promoting conservation measured, avoided, and offset the project’s carbon footprint. This work served as a reference for both GEF projects and others seeking to promote sustainable development.
